About Growing Minds Farm
KOTA operates at Growing Minds Educational Farm where Katie Donohoe has been a mentor to Kat as she continues to grow. While they both have separate programming, they have begun collaborating with series and special events using both of their talents and skills to expand class offerings.
Growing Minds Project is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2015 in suburban Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Our mission is to educate and empower individuals of all ages to grow healthy organic food! We believe that farming can no longer be restricted to rural areas. Our urban educational farm is cultivated through the principles of sustainable agriculture and permaculture. It is a work in progress as farming not only teaches us self-sustainability but patience as well. As we continue to develop our farm we will also continue to add programs for the community, our youth, those with mental and physical disabilities and Veterans. We believe that farming is not only an empowering experience but a healing one as well. It is critical that we preserve some of the last remaining land in our local community for the purpose of cultivation. Every day farm land is decreasing while population continues to increase. There is a time when we must put aside land for cultivation, teaching, healing and preservation. That time is now.
